Big Moves for a NYC Favorite
If you've been trying (and failing) to snag a table at the ultra-exclusive The Corner Store in SoHo, your luck is about to change. Catch Hospitality Group is bringing the NYC fan favorite to the Cosmopolitan in Las Vegas, with an official opening set for November 9.
Eugene Remm, co-founder of the hospitality group, says this expansion is all about accessibility. The Vegas location is double the square footage of the original, boasting 150 seats. Despite the larger space, Remm promises the spot won't turn into a chaotic club vibe; they are aiming to keep that intimate, sophisticated energy that made the NYC original a go-to for A-listers like Taylor Swift, Sabrina Carpenter, Lady Gaga, and Leo DiCaprio.
The Business Side of the Hype
For those crunching the numbers, this is a major scaling play. Since partnering with billionaire Tilman Fertitta—who owns the Houston Rockets and serves as the US ambassador to Italy—in 2017, Catch Hospitality Group has gone from a local NYC operator to a national powerhouse. The group is clearly diversifying its portfolio, with projects like The Eighty-Six, Or’esh, and the recently debuted Cafe Charmant already in the mix. They’ve even locked in a lease for a space in the Solow Building at 9 W. 57th St for a 2028 opening, which might include a private members club.
Menu and Strategy
Don’t expect the food game to slip. The Vegas menu will mirror the NYC classic—yes, that means the steak frites inspired by Raoul’s and the iconic sour cream and onion martini are making the trip west. However, expect some "Vegas-sized" exclusives, like larger steak cuts to fit the market.
Remm credits the brand's rapid success to a "product-first" strategy. The Corner Store launched without a heavy PR push, relying on word-of-mouth and the quality of its craft to gain traction. Now, with MGM Resorts International handling the hotel operations, they’re looking to replicate that success on the Strip.
Why it matters
It’s giving major scaling energy. By leveraging the deep pockets of their partners and the brand equity built by A-list celebrity foot traffic, Catch Hospitality is proving that even "cute projects" can be scaled into national staples. If you’re into the restaurant industry, watch how they handle the pivot from intimate neighborhood vibe to high-volume Vegas tourism—it’s a high-stakes play for market share.
