  • Account data: if you create an account, your name and email address, plus the preferences you set (favorite categories, bio).
  • Activity you choose to save: saved and bookmarked articles, reading lists, reading history, comments and reactions.
  • Newsletter: your email address if you subscribe. We only send the newsletter after you confirm your address via the link we email you (double opt-in), and every newsletter contains a one-click unsubscribe link. Emails are delivered through our email provider Resend.
  • Push notifications: a browser push token if you enable breaking-news alerts.
  • Usage data: pages viewed and basic interaction events, used to improve the site.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use this data to run the site and your account, personalize your news feed, send the newsletter or alerts you asked for, and understand how the site is used. We do not sell your personal data.

4. Advertising

We show ads served by Google AdSense. With your consent, Google and its partners may use cookies to show ads based on your visits to this and other websites; without it, only non-personalized ads are shown. When you use AI features (such as asking questions about an article), the text you enter is processed by an AI service to generate the answer. Please don't enter sensitive personal information.

We use trusted providers to run the site: Base44 (hosting, database, accounts and AI processing), Google (AdSense advertising), ElevenLabs (text-to-speech for audio summaries — only article text is sent) and Resend (newsletter emails). Some of them are located in the United States, so your data may be processed outside the EU/EEA; where required, transfers rely on the providers' standard contractual clauses.

5b. Legal Bases (EU/EEA and UK visitors)

We process data to provide the service you request (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR), based on our legitimate interest in running, securing and improving the site (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR), and — for personalized ads and lasting visit statistics — on your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR), which you can withdraw at any time.
