The band is back together

If you were still reeling from the end of Gavin and Stacey, lowkey, same. But the iconic duo behind our favorite comfort watch—Ruth Jones and James Corden—are finally reuniting for a brand new project, and the vibes are looking immaculate. Their upcoming comedy-drama, The Choir, is officially in production and set to hit Apple TV in 2027.

Who’s joining the cast?

The eight-episode series is pulling some serious main character energy with its casting. We are talking major cameos from Ted Lasso queen Hannah Waddingham, X-Men legend James McAvoy, and Harry Potter icon Jim Broadbent. The main plot follows estranged siblings Ben (Corden) and Lisa (Jones), who find themselves forced back into each other's lives after Ben returns to the small town he spent years trying to escape.

Why it matters

Beyond the star power, the show hits different because it’s deeply personal for the creators. Both Jones and Corden have family ties to local choirs, and they want to explore how these communities bring people together. Real talk: in a world where everyone is lowkey stressed, a show about finding connection and community is exactly what we need. Say less, we’re already adding it to our 2027 watch list.
