Winning the Matchup Game

It is officially Week 4, and your draft day vibes are irrelevant. To stay winning, you have to play the scheme. We’re looking at defensive personnel and target volume to help you set a lineup that actually hits. No cap, the key to a stress-free Sunday is feeling confident in your roster before the games even kick off.

The Breakdown

  • Steelers vs. Tight Ends: The Steelers love their zone coverage, but they’ve been getting cooked by TEs lately. Harold Fannin Jr. is a solid look here, but honestly? I’d lowkey rather roll the dice on Darren Waller or Kenyon Sadiq.
  • DK Metcalf: The Browns play a ton of single-high safety coverage, which is a massive green flag for DK. He’s a lock as a flex or WR3 this week.
  • The Washington Defensive Disaster: The Commanders’ pass defense is giving it up to everyone—Sam Darnold, Dak Prescott, and Jalen Hurts all went off. Daniel Jones is actually looking like a viable spot-starter if you’re desperate. Keep an eye on Tyler Warren, Josh Downs, and Keenan Allen here.
  • Ravens vs. Titans: Expect a heavy dose of Derrick Henry, but Zay Flowers and Mark Andrews are about to eat against the Titans’ zone-heavy scheme. Flowers specifically has a wild 45.5% target rate against these looks.
  • Bills vs. Patriots: D.J. Moore might struggle against Christian Gonzalez, but Dalton Kincaid is the main character for Josh Allen when facing man-to-man coverage. If you need a TE, Kincaid is the move.
  • Bears vs. Jets: With Ben Johnson’s inside track on the Jets' defensive schemes, look for Kalif Raymond and Luther Burden III to be the best flex plays. They’re ready to exploit the secondary.
  • Jaguars vs. Bengals: Trevor Lawrence is looking at Jakobi Meyers on third downs. Meyers has been cooking against man coverage, so keep him on your radar.

Why it matters

Fantasy is a game of inches, and these tactical adjustments based on defensive schemes can be the difference between a W and an L. Don't leave points on the bench.
