The Cleveland Browns are officially in their youth era, and real talk: Jerry Jeudy is getting left in the dust. While the Browns have snagged two wins in three weeks, it’s not because of their veteran wideout. Instead, rookies KC Concepcion and Denzel Boston are absolutely eating.
The WR power shift
Jeudy, who led the team in production in 2025, has completely faded into the background. Through three games, he’s only logged five targets and two receptions. He’s currently sitting behind rookies, tight end Harold Fannin, and running backs Quinshon Judkins and Raheim Sanders. For a guy who was a Pro Bowler two years ago, the vibes are off. He’s currently on track for the least productive season of his career, and it’s giving ‘time for a change.’
Why a trade makes sense
With Jeudy under contract through 2027, the Browns could actually save some bread by offloading him. Any team that picks him up would only owe him $1.5 million in base salary for this year and next, which is a total W for contenders and rebuilders alike.
Potential landing spots for Jeudy include:
- Kansas City Chiefs: They need more insurance behind Rashee Rice and Xavier Worthy to stay in the Super Bowl hunt.
- New England Patriots: Drake Maye is struggling, and the current WR room isn't helping him one bit.
- San Francisco 49ers: Their depth is cooked with injuries, and they are scrambling for literally any bodies right now.
- Baltimore Ravens: Lamar Jackson is in his prime, but his WR corps outside of Zay Flowers is way too thin.
- Las Vegas Raiders: Their offense is winning, but they need star power to support Brock Bowers while guys are out on IR.
Why it matters
Cleveland is clearly pivoting to their future core. If they can flip Jeudy, they gain the flexibility to invest in the rookies who are currently running the show. For Jeudy, a fresh start might be exactly what he needs to get his career back on track.
