The couple confirmed the news in a statement on September 29, describing their daughter as a "loving young girl who was smart, creative, and loved to dance."
Fiona was the middle child of the family, sharing a close bond with her older sister Mabel, 17, and her younger sister Nixie, 10. In their statement, the parents shared that Fiona was "the light of our lives" and expressed that the loss is completely shattering for the entire family.

Following the announcement, Chad’s father, Chuck Lowe, shared a touching tribute on Instagram on September 30. He posted a photo of his granddaughter swimming, writing, "Rest in peace sweet Fiona."
In the wake of the tragedy, many of Chad’s friends and colleagues have reached out with messages of support. The Princess Bride star Cary Elwes sent his love, writing, "Our hearts are broken for you all," while actor Marlee Matlin shared a message on X stating, "My heart is broken into pieces. Fly high, Fiona Lowe."
