Clear your calendars for late 2027 because Sony is stacking the deck. The studio just announced official release dates for some major projects, and honestly, we are already manifesting a good time.
First up, the highly anticipated comedy sequel "24 Jump Street" is finally hitting theaters on December 10, 2027. We’ve been waiting for this one since the rumor mill started churning in June. While nothing is officially signed, the icons Jonah Hill, Channing Tatum, and Ice Cube are all in talks to return for the franchise’s third installment. Rodney Rothman is set to direct, with Phil Lord and Chris Miller returning as producers to make sure the chemistry stays 10/10.

If you prefer your cinema with a bit more swashbuckling energy, Ridley Scott’s "Treasure Island" remake, starring the one and only Hugh Jackman, is dropping on November 11, 2027. Scott is directing, with a script from "Adolescence" writer Jack Thorne.
Sony also filled in some other gaps in our 2027 watchlist:
- "The Surgeon," a thriller starring Michelle Yeoh as a doctor forced to operate on a mysterious patient, arrives April 2, 2027.
- The coming-of-age comedy "Narcs," starring Mason Thames, is set for August 20, 2027.
There were also a couple of calendar shifts for the girlies and boys waiting on other projects. "Grandgear" from director Takashi Yamazaki is moving up to January 14, 2028, while the adaptation of the video game "Helldivers" got bumped back to June 9, 2028.
