The plan
Strategy Inc. is looking to switch things up for its investors. The company just filed with the SEC to move its four preferred stocks—including its main STRC asset—to a daily dividend payment schedule. The board already gave it the green light on Thursday, but it’s going to a shareholder vote on October 28.
If the vote passes, STRC would start this daily hustle on November 2, with the others (STRF, STRK, and STRD) following suit in January. The total payout amount and the rates stay the same—it’s really just about how often the money hits your account.
The context
If this sounds familiar, that’s because fellow Bitcoin treasury firm Strive already started paying daily dividends on its SATA stock back in June. Strategy is aiming for a slightly different rhythm, though: while Strive pays on business days, Strategy wants to count every calendar day as a record date, paying out on the next business day.
Strategy CEO Phong Le recently hopped on the Coin Stories podcast to address the STRC drama from earlier this year. The stock took a massive L back in June, dropping as low as $71.25. Le admitted that the company didn't see the wave of leverage coming—basically, people were borrowing BTC to buy STRC, and when the market dipped, those investors had to dump their bags.
Why it matters
Strategy is trying to prevent another "unwind" by keeping a solid USD reserve and buying back STRC when it dips below its $100 target. It’s a move to lure in institutional investors and keep the asset price steady. Real talk: crypto markets are wild, so remember that this is just corporate policy news—definitely not financial advice. Do your own research before moving your bags.
