A legendary fail

Real talk: if you're going to commit a crime, maybe don't leave your government-issued ID at the scene. An Oklahoma man found this out the hard way after a truly chaotic attempt to evade the police.

On October 1, Oklahoma County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to reports of a burglary at a vacant home on Sunset Lane. When a deputy arrived, they found 24-year-old Rayven Lee Wooten inside, allegedly mid-heist, trying to rip copper wire out of a dishwasher.

The window dive

The situation escalated immediately. The bodycam footage shows the deputy repeatedly telling Wooten to get on his knees and keep his hands visible. The deputy even warned, “You will get shot,” but Wooten was not having it.

Instead of complying, he made a break for it—literally. Wooten ran through the kitchen and dove headfirst through a closed living room window. It was giving major Hollywood stuntman energy, but the escape didn't go as planned. While he managed to get out of the house, he left his backpack behind. The best part? His driver’s license was inside.

Why it matters

Naturally, the police didn't have much trouble tracking him down after he basically handed them his identity. Wooten is now facing charges for burglary, resisting arrest, and obstructing an officer. It’s a total L for him, but at least he’s now the main character of a viral police clip.
