A family in pieces
Real talk, the situation at the Great Wolf Lodge in the Poconos this week is heavy. Metallica Rose Harrison, 27, is currently being treated in a hospital for self-inflicted injuries after being accused of killing her husband, Charles Harrison, and their 3-year-old son, T.H., inside their hotel room this past Monday.
The contrast
It’s giving a total nightmare because, looking at their social media, you’d never guess anything was wrong. Metallica Rose had been posting all these glowing, happy snaps of their vacations—including one from this summer where she and her son were on a Ferris wheel together. Her husband, Charles, even had a sweet wedding photo up from just three years ago. It’s wild how social media can totally mask what’s happening behind closed doors.
The aftermath
According to the police affidavit, Metallica Rose called 911 after the incident, saying, “My husband and son are already gone in the bed in the living room. They’re already gone, I’m sorry.” She allegedly asked dispatchers for help on how to end her own life, admitting she had tried to slash her own wrists and neck. While she’s stayed quiet with police, she reportedly told medics that she worked “so hard to be the best person, the best mother, the best wife.” She added, “It wasn’t supposed to end like this. I was supposed to have my happy family.”
Neighbors in their hometown of Towanda are lowkey devastated. People described the family as mostly keeping to themselves, though one neighbor noted hearing occasional yelling. It’s a tragic situation, no cap.
Why it matters
This incident has left the Bradford County community in shock as investigators piece together the timeline of what led to such a horrific outcome at what was supposed to be a family vacation.
