The Vibe Check

If you thought your gym clothes were only for rotting on the couch or actually hitting the treadmill, Miuccia Prada is here to tell you that you’ve been doing it wrong. At Miu Miu’s Paris Fashion Week show this past Sunday, the designer debuted a collection that is lowkey obsessed with 'real clothes'—the stuff you actually wear to run errands, but, like, make it fashion.

Prada’s whole goal was to turn sportswear and casual basics into something "more interesting, more rich." The runway featured a wild clash of genres: think spiky high heels paired with bright trainers, track pants styled with high-end knitwear, and sports bras turned into sparkly party tops. The brand even teamed up with Wrangler to drop some low-rise vintage jeans that ditched standard buttons for a shoelace-inspired fastening system.

The Miu Miu Girl Archetype

It’s no secret that Miu Miu is currently popping off. The label is sitting at No. 2 on the Lyst index, right behind Chanel, with sales jumping 3% to over 700 million euros as of July.

So, what’s the secret sauce? The brand has mastered the "Miu Miu girl"—a vibe that’s slightly messy, a little bit weird, and perversely sexy. It’s not just a look; it’s an identity. The runway show proved this, featuring a diverse cast including Emma Corrin in white knickers and a croc jacket, Olivia Colman in a suede skirt suit, and Jamie Bell rocking low-rise trousers.

Beyond the Catwalk

This isn't just a one-off trend, either. Miu Miu is leaning hard into the sports space, recently dropping a performance wear collection with tennis icon Coco Gauff. Beyond that, they’re keeping the hype alive with their literary club and a long-standing initiative that commissions films directed by women.

Why it matters

In a luxury market that’s currently struggling, Miu Miu is winning by refusing to be boring. By forcing a "friction and tension" between high-fashion sophistication and the gear we wear to mooch around, they've turned 'normal' into something we're all highkey ready to drop our paychecks on.
