Meet the newest horror icon
If you thought you were brave, wait until you meet 10-year-old actress Arabella Olivia Clark. She is currently having a total moment after her latest film, Other Mommy, dropped on Friday and immediately snagged the No. 1 spot at the box office with a massive $12.6 million opening day.
In the Rob Savage-directed flick, Clark plays Bela, a young girl caught in a nightmare involving a sinister double of her mom, Ursula (played by Jessica Chastain). While most of us are lowkey terrified just watching the trailer, Clark is out here living for the creepy stuff. Seriously, the girl loves spiders, snakes, and reading spooky stories in the dark. It’s giving main character energy, no cap.
Behind the scenes with a legend
It wasn't all jumpscares, though. Clark gushed about working with screen queen Jessica Chastain, who she says was basically the ultimate role model on set. Between hiking trips and hanging out with Chastain’s kids, Clark revealed that the actress was even studying for Harvard while filming. A multi-hyphenate icon? We stan.
Clark also shared that director Rob Savage kept the vibes safe on set, and co-stars Chastain and Jay Duplass were constantly cracking jokes to keep things light when the cameras weren't rolling.
The future is (obviously) sci-fi
Even though she’s crushing the horror game—having previously starred as a young version of Amanda Seyfried’s character in 2025’s The Housemaid—Clark is already eyeing her next move. She’s highkey ready to pivot to space and aliens, dreaming of a potential E.T. sequel or a massive sci-fi project involving sharks and the lovable alien Rocky from Project Hail Mary.
Between doing her own acrobatics and filming in a massive 20-foot-deep water tank, it’s safe to say this 10-year-old is the absolute GOAT of staying fearless.
Why it matters
Arabella Olivia Clark’s massive debut in Other Mommy proves that Gen Alpha is already taking over Hollywood. With a breakout performance and a genuine passion for the craft—and the stunts—she’s a fresh face to keep on your radar as she eyes bigger, sci-fi-filled adventures.
