A haunting new drop
If you love a good supernatural thriller, add Bloodline: The Curse Within (known locally as Huyết Thống) to your watchlist. The film is officially heading to the Asian Contents & Film Market at the Busan International Film Festival, with Mockingbird Pictures holding worldwide distribution rights.
The plot thickens
The story centers on a celebrated pediatric heart surgeon whose daughter becomes the target of a vengeful ghost. When traditional medicine fails to stop a literal ancient curse, he’s forced to confront his own dark, buried sins. It’s giving classic generational trauma, but make it horror.
Meet the cast
The film is packed with a stellar lineup. Quách Ngọc Ngoan, known for his work in The Immortal, leads the cast. He’s joined by horror icon Quang Tuấn of The Corpse franchise and Lan Phương, who appeared in the massive hit Phi Phong: The Blood Demon.
Why it matters
Director Đinh Đức Thiện wanted to blend medicine with spirituality, exploring how far we'd go to save someone we love. Producer Hoàng Gia says the team aimed to ground the terror in raw human emotion and the weight of family history. With the film hitting Vietnamese theaters on Dec. 25, it’s a total W for fans of international horror cinema.
