The post-game blowup

The vibe was already wild after the Buffalo Bills pulled off a 37-34 OT win over the Los Angeles Rams, but things really went left once the clock hit zero. As players were on the field swapping jerseys, Rams left tackle Alaric Jackson and Bills edge rusher Bradley Chubb got into it.

Video shows the two trading words before it got physical. Jackson walked right up to Chubb, and after a brief confrontation, Jackson threw a punch that appeared to connect with Chubb’s face. Teammates from both squads had to rush in to separate them.

The fallout

The NFL didn’t waste time dropping the hammer, handing Jackson a two-game suspension for violating the league’s sportsmanship rules. He’ll be sitting out for the Week 6 clash against the Arizona Cardinals and the Week 7 showdown with the Las Vegas Raiders. He’s set to return to the active roster on November 1 against the Los Angeles Chargers.

This isn’t Jackson’s first time on the league's radar—he served a two-game suspension in 2024 for a personal conduct policy violation.

The context

Chubb, who was seen talking trash to multiple Rams players after the game, downplayed the incident as pure emotion from a tight matchup. He claimed that because he let Jackson swing first, his teammates were able to hold him back while the officials watched the "second guy."

Why it matters

This suspension is a major L for the Rams' offensive line depth as they look to bounce back. It also highlights the league’s firm stance on post-game scraps—taking a page out of the playbook from similar discipline, like the one-game suspension handed to Brian Branch exactly one year ago.
