The plot thickens in the case of the woman accused of terrorizing Rihanna and A$AP Rocky’s Beverly Hills home. After months of psychiatric evaluations, a Los Angeles judge has officially ruled that the 36-year-old suspect is mentally fit to stand trial. Judge Maria Cavalluzzi dropped the news during a hearing on Tuesday, confirming that “criminal proceedings are reinstated.”
The charges
The suspect, who is from Orlando, Florida, is staring down a heavy list of 13 felony charges. These include one count of attempted murder, 10 counts of assault with a semiautomatic firearm, and three counts of shooting at an inhabited dwelling. Real talk: if she’s convicted, she could be looking at a life sentence. She has pleaded not guilty to everything and is currently sitting in custody with bail set at $1.875 million.

Back in March, the situation was terrifying. Prosecutors allege the woman rolled up to the celebrity couple’s home in a Tesla and let off more than 20 rounds from an AR-15-style rifle. While Rihanna was inside with their three children and a nanny, thankfully, no one was hurt. Authorities later found bullet holes in the property's gate and an RV parked in the driveway. The suspect was apprehended about 30 minutes after the 911 call in a shopping center parking lot in Sherman Oaks after a police helicopter tracked her car.

This ruling moves the legal process forward after the defendant's mental state initially paused the trial. With her fitness confirmed, the case can finally head toward a resolution regarding the brazen attack on the family's residence.
