Real talk: a Florida mom is currently facing the music after allegedly leaving her four young kids to fend for themselves while she caught a cruise to the Bahamas. Nathalie Belizaire, 29, is looking at four felony counts of child neglect, and honestly, the vibes are absolutely rancid.
What went down
According to an arrest affidavit, Belizaire allegedly left her kids—including a 2-month-old infant and a 2-year-old—completely alone at her North Miami Beach home. The plot thickens when you realize the father of the 2-month-old stopped by the house a day after the ship sailed and heard the kids talking through the blinds. He called the police, who found the children hiding in the bathroom. They were totally alone.
Belizaire reportedly told the father she was leaving them with a great-grandmother, but that never happened. Her own brother even told police she’d texted him asking him to check on them, which is highkey wild considering she was on a boat in the middle of the ocean.
The court reaction
Miami-Dade Circuit Judge Mindy Glazer was not having it. During a video court appearance, the judge was audibly shocked, exclaiming, “Who leaves four little kids alone to go on a cruise?” When the defense lawyer tried to argue it was “only an allegation,” the judge shut that down fast, pointing out that Belizaire was literally arrested as she stepped off the ship back in Miami. "You cannot make this up!" Glazer added.
Belizaire is now out on a $10,000 bond and has been ordered to stay away from her children. For the record, this isn't her first time dealing with the law; she was previously charged with aggravated battery back in early 2025.
