The Vibe Check

If you've been keeping up with the foldable phone drama lately, you’ve probably noticed that everyone is pivoting to shorter, wider screens. But Vivo? They decided to keep it retro. The X Fold 6, which first dropped in China this summer, is officially hitting the international market. The catch? It feels like it’s living in the past.

The Design Dilemma

While brands like Apple and Samsung are pushing that newer, wider aesthetic, the X Fold 6 is sticking to its tall, square-ish 20:9 aspect ratio cover display. It’s not necessarily a disaster, but it’s definitely a choice. You’re looking at a 6.51-inch cover screen that opens up to an 8.02-inch main panel. Also, that annoying screen crease is still pretty visible—definitely not the flex we were hoping for in 2026. The IP59 rating is decent, but lowkey mid compared to the absolute best out there.

Why you might actually want it

Real talk: if you’re a photography stan, this might be your new main character. The camera system is where this phone actually ate. It’s packing a massive 200-megapixel main sensor, plus a 50-megapixel telephoto and ultrawide setup. When you compare that to other foldables, it’s highkey competitive. Plus, it’s got a hefty 6,900mAh battery running on a custom MediaTek Dimensity 9500 chip, so it’s not just a pretty face.

Why it matters

We’re still waiting on the official price and specific market list from Vivo, so say less for now. It’s a classic case of "big specs, retro design." If you care more about having the biggest sensor than having the trendiest screen shape, this might be the move, but it’s definitely not for the tech minimalists out there.
