Labor is looking to slash red tape across the board for hospitality, promising an “automatic right” for venues to stay open until 3am and cutting liquor license wait times from 11 weeks down to six. They’re also looking into letting staff under 18 clear tables and pushing for more all-ages gigs. It’s a bold play, especially since recent polls show the party’s primary vote is hovering around 24–25%. The Opposition, led by Jess Wilson, hasn't shut down the dog-friendly idea but claims these changes won't fix the state's underlying economic struggles.
