The USMNT is on fire. In a high-energy showdown in St. Louis this Tuesday, the squad took down Chile 4-2, and the vibes were highkey immaculate thanks to our youngest talents.

Real talk, the youth movement is delivering. Julian Hall just became the youngest US men’s player to score in each of his first two appearances—a literal legend in the making. Not to be outdone, 17-year-old newcomer Mathis Albert iced the game in stoppage time, officially becoming the youngest-ever goalscorer for the US men’s senior team.
The Highlights
Sebastian Berhalter opened the scoring in the 37th minute after some slick play from Sergiño Dest. After Chile equalized just before the half, Hall responded early in the second frame with a perfect header off a Gio Reyna cross. Even after Chile took a brief lead thanks to a defensive error, the US didn't fold. Chris Richards smashed in the match-winner in the 72nd minute, and Albert’s final tap-in sealed the deal.
It wasn't all perfect, though. The defense looked a bit shaky in the first half, and keeper Chris Brady, making his first start, had the crossbar to thank for keeping the scoreline level before he was subbed off at halftime for Brian Schwake. The game ended with a bit of drama, devolving into a shoving match between both squads.
Why it matters
Head coach Mauricio Pochettino is actively testing his depth, starting several debutants like Brady, Hall, Adri Mehmeti, Neil Pierre, Brooklyn Raines, and Frankie Westfield. With tougher tests against Mexico and Canada coming up, this squad is proving they have the main character energy needed for the road to 2030.
