It’s giving absolute tragedy. A year after she went missing, the body of Rana Nofal Soluri, 47, was finally discovered by a fisherman near a bridge at Brushy Creek in Texas. The Envoy Air flight attendant, who was a mom, had been reported missing by worried coworkers back in June 2025. According to Fort Worth Police Detective Tom O’Brien, DNA testing confirmed her identity just two weeks ago. The real tea? Her remains may have been hidden under mud the entire time police were searching the area last year.

The investigation

Police quickly locked in on Soluri’s roommate and longtime friend, 67-year-old Dennis William Day, after she failed to show up for work. While Day initially tried to claim he hadn’t seen her, surveillance footage from March 21 told a different story. The video reportedly caught Day dragging what looked like a body out of their home. Day eventually confessed to strangling Soluri during a fight on their kitchen floor after she threatened to call 911. He allegedly dumped her in a trash bin before disposing of her at a bridge in Bowie.

What this means for you

Day has been hit with a murder charge and is currently facing the music. Prosecutors say he even bragged to people in jail that he couldn't be convicted if her body was never recovered—no cap, that is sinister. Another individual, 63-year-old Joni Thomas, has also been charged with tampering with evidence for allegedly helping dispose of the body. Soluri’s daughter, Lulu, is now preparing to travel to Texas for a court date this October to finally seek justice for her mom. American Airlines is helping fly Soluri’s remains to Seattle so her family can lay her to rest.
