New Music Friday Essentials
It’s officially that time of the week to refresh your playlists and keep your ears happy. We’ve got some major drops hitting streaming platforms today that are absolute vibes.
The Heavy Hitters
Noah Kahan is officially in his movie soundtrack era. The singer-songwriter dropped "Draw You Out," the lead single for The Hunger Games: Sunrise on the Reaping. Co-written and produced with Aaron Dessner, Kahan says he wanted to keep his signature emotional honesty intact for the film. The full soundtrack arrives November 13, right before the movie hits theaters on November 20.
Victoria Monét is also back to claim her crown. After sweeping at the Grammys, she’s dropped Frequency of Love, a massive 22-track project. Featuring appearances from SZA, Bruno Mars, and her own daughter Hazel, this album is lowkey a masterpiece.
Keeping the Momentum Going
Drake is back at it, adding four new tracks to his Habibti set. It’s giving main character energy as he brings in Don Toliver and Yebba for some R&B-infused goodness. Meanwhile, Lil Nas X is out here manifesting with his new single "World’s Greatest," giving us all the "I'm a champion" affirmations we need to hear right now.
Also on the radar:
- Holly Humberstone: She’s teasing her upcoming deluxe edition, Cruel World…So It Ends, with the new track "Too Cute To Be Lonely."
- Dexter and the Moonrocks: The grunge act dropped their debut album, Friends That I Don’t Like, featuring a collab with Avery Anna.
- Miranda Lambert: She’s teaming up with Ella Langley for her new album Crisco, which is serving country-meets-disco energy that is a total W.
