The End of an Era (Sort Of)

After over a year of main character energy at Dolby Live at Park MGM, New Kids on the Block are officially wrapping up their The Right Stuff residency. Starting this Friday, Oct. 2, the guys — Jordan Knight, Donnie Wahlberg, Joey McIntyre, and Danny Wood — are heading into their final eight performances. The curtain officially drops on Oct. 17.

Donnie Wahlberg told The Hollywood Reporter that it’s going to be a total tear-jerker. "I think the last run of shows is going to be super emotional," he said, adding that while it’s not the end of the band, it’s a meaningful chapter closing in their four-decade journey. He lowkey misses the consistency of their pre-show rituals in the same hallways, noting that realizing how far they’ve come as a group while still being healthy and having fun is a "very overwhelming experience."

Holiday Vibes Incoming?

If you’re a Blockhead, you know the final 16 shows got a massive revamp dubbed "The Right Stuff Remixed." But Wahlberg is hinting at one more surprise for the final stretch. Since they rarely tour in the winter, he teased that they might finally perform tracks from their 1989 album, Merry, Merry Christmas. We’re talking potential live performances of "This One’s for the Children" or "Funky, Funky Xmas." Say less, Donnie.

Why it matters

While the Vegas stay has been a vibe, Wahlberg confirmed that they are itching to hit the road again. He expressed a desire to tour the world one more time, reminding fans that at their core, they are a touring act. After their 2024 album Still Kids reminded everyone why they stay winning, it seems clear the band isn't planning on hanging up their mics anytime soon.
