The Viral Health Reservation

Forget trying to get a table at the city's trendiest restaurant; the new "it" reservation in New York is a $499 body scan at Neko Health. Since opening its first U.S. clinic in SoHo on September 24, the Swedish health-tech startup—co-founded by Spotify billionaire Daniel Ek—has been absolutely swamped. The waitlist has ballooned to over 50,000 people, a jump of 25,000 in just a few weeks.

Who’s Getting Scanned?

The lineup of people dropping $499 for a check-up is lowkey a who’s who of elite circles. Supermodel Karlie Kloss, Mets owner Steve Cohen, and Knicks/Rangers boss James Dolan are already in, along with stars like Paris Hilton, Ryan Serhant, and legend Thierry Henry. The clinic offers a non-invasive, radiation-free assessment that monitors metabolic and cardiovascular health, followed by a doctor review.

Expansion Mode

With demand hitting these levels, the business is moving fast. Neko is opening a second location at Brookfield Place in Battery Park, Brooklyn, coming January 2027 with even more capacity. The company is backed by heavy hitters like Mark Zuckerberg and Alexis Ohanian, and after a massive $700 million funding round in July, it’s currently valued at nearly $7 billion. CEO Hjalmar Nilsonne says the goal is "prevention for all," but for now, it’s giving exclusive access.

Why it matters

If you’re watching the health-tech sector, Neko is a major player to track. They’re disrupting the traditional, expensive "executive health screening" model by making preventative data more accessible. For your wallet, it’s a sign that preventative wellness is becoming a massive luxury market, and for the startup ecosystem, the $7 billion valuation proves investors are betting big on the future of data-driven physical health.
