Tuesday night’s episode of Dancing With the Stars featured a theme dedicated to viral hits, and actress Jenna Dewan really leaned into the assignment. Taking the floor with her partner Val Chmerkovskiy, Dewan performed a jive set to the KATSEYE track “Animal.”
Decked out in a leopard-print look, the pair brought serious intensity to the ballroom. The routine was packed with sharp kicks and rapid-fire footwork that matched the song's vibe perfectly. The show designers even went all-in on the aesthetic, transforming the space with jungle-inspired decor and animal-print lighting.
Judges Weigh In
This was the duo’s second time competing this season. After a tango performance during the premiere that earned them a 19/30, they managed to improve their standing with the judges this week. The “Animal” routine brought in three 7s for a total score of 21/30.
The judges were clearly impressed by the growth. Carrie Ann Inaba specifically highlighted the stronger connection between the pair, while Derek Hough described the routine as “fast, furious, fantastic.” Bruno Tonioli was also a fan, calling Dewan a “sexy beast” after the high-energy performance.
KATSEYE’s track has been making major waves since its release in July. The song debuted at No. 24 on the Billboard Hot 100 back in August and has stayed on the chart for eight weeks, marking a massive milestone for the group.
