The ultimate power duo

Meet Jackson and Lily Defendini, the 17-year-old twins from Farmingdale High School who are basically the main characters of their campus. Born just a minute apart, this sibling duo has spent their high school years pushing each other to level up. Lily is the captain of the swim and dive team, while Jackson is out here holding it down as captain of the lacrosse team and a varsity football player.

Growing up, they were attached at the hip—literally. "There are nine periods in our school day — and we had eight of them together," Lily shared. They’ve spent their lives motivating each other, whether it's Jackson dragging Lily to the basement gym for intense lifting sessions or Lily helping Jackson tackle his AP courses. It’s giving major support system goals.

Future moves

As they look toward graduation in 2027, the twins are ready for their next era. Jackson is set on applying to the United States Naval Academy, driven by a desire to serve. "I really want to give back," he said, noting he plans to commit to five years of service after graduating. Meanwhile, Lily is locked into her love for swimming. Whether it's Division I, II, III, or a club team, she knows she isn't leaving the water anytime soon.

For now, they’re soaking up their final year together. Jackson is specifically hitting the football field for coach Buddy Krumenacher’s last season, hoping to lead his 4-1 squad to a Nassau County title. Lily is aiming for new personal bests in the pool, already boasting a 59.37-second 100-yard freestyle.

Why it matters

While they know their paths might diverge after high school, they’re staying locked in on their goals. It’s a W for the Defendini household, proving that having a twin by your side in the trenches of high school is a total blessing. They’re ready to branch out, but one thing is for sure: this bond is built to last.
