It’s been a heartbreaking week for Gypsy Rose Blanchard. The reality star recently opened up about saying a final goodbye to her partner, Ken Urker, who tragically passed away on his 34th birthday on October 1 due to an apparent overdose.
In a recent interview, Blanchard shared that she and their 21-month-old daughter, Aurora, were able to attend a private viewing for Urker’s family. "It was the hardest thing to do," she told People. While funeral details haven't been finalized yet, Blanchard plans to be there to pay her respects once everything is set in stone.
Looking ahead, she’s already planning a special celebration of life for November that sounds honestly so wholesome. She wants to set off a huge fireworks display, a tradition she says Urker absolutely lived for. "Ken always used to go overboard with buying the biggest and the baddest fireworks every year," she shared. It’s giving main character energy in the best way.
According to a police report obtained by E! News, Urker was found in his Louisiana home by Blanchard’s half-brother, Dylan Blanchard. Reports noted that drug paraphernalia was found at the scene, and while toxicology results are still pending, authorities have labeled the death an overdose.
Blanchard is holding onto the memories of their long-standing connection, which dated back to 2017. "He will forever be my soulmate and my red string," she said. "Through her, a part of him will always remain with us."
Why it matters
Gypsy Rose Blanchard’s journey has been heavily documented in the public eye, and this loss marks a devastating chapter for her and her young family. She is choosing to focus on honoring Urker’s memory and prioritizing their daughter during this incredibly difficult time.
