The plot thickens

Based on Kevin Kwan’s best-selling novels, the eight-episode series will pick up where the movie left off. Adele Lim, who co-wrote the film, is stepping up as showrunner and executive producer. Lim expressed serious hype, calling it the "family reunion" and the sequel we’ve been waiting for. The film’s director, Jon M. Chu, is also returning as an executive producer. Chu noted that the cast has had some serious main character energy since the first film, evolving into superstars and award winners, so getting everyone back together lowkey feels like coming home.

Why it matters
