It was a chaotic Saturday night in the South Bronx that ended with an NYPD officer hospitalized. Around 7:20 p.m., police responded to a 311 call about a large, rowdy crowd blasting loud music near Garrison Avenue and Whittier Street.
When the cops rolled up to the scene, things took a turn. A man jumped into a white Honda SUV, desperate to bail. As he sped off, he struck an officer in the left leg.
Real talk: the officer was rushed to Lincoln Hospital in stable condition. Thankfully, he is expected to recover, but the vibes are off because the suspect is still out there. Police say the driver remains at large, and there is no physical description of them yet. It’s giving a major L for justice that the person behind the wheel is currently on the lam.
