The BTC reversal
Real talk: The market is acting like a total degen lately. On Tuesday, US spot Bitcoin ETFs managed a $119 million net inflow, completely flipping the script after Monday’s $90 million outflow. It’s giving resilience, especially considering the price action wasn't exactly bullish.
BTC slid from highs over $86,600 down to around $83,971, marking a 2.1% dip over the last 24 hours. While the inflows are a W for the long-term sentiment, we’re seeing some serious profit-taking. According to CryptoQuant contributor MorenoDV, Bitcoin is trading at a massive premium compared to the average trader's cost basis of roughly $68,900. The big question is whether new demand can actually absorb all those bags being sold off.
Ether's rough patch
While Bitcoin is holding its own, Ether (ETH) ETFs are having a major L. They’ve now hit a six-session outflow streak, losing a total of $408 million. Tuesday was particularly rough, with $202 million flying out of the funds—that's a huge spike compared to Monday’s $51 million drain.
Elsewhere in the altcoin ETF space, the vibes were mixed. XRP ETFs saw a small win with $3.1 million in inflows, while Solana (SOL) ETFs dipped with $3.7 million in outflows. Zcash (ZEC) stayed flat, recording no net movement.
Why it matters
Tracking these institutional flows gives us a pulse on how the "smart money" is positioning. Remember, just because institutions are buying doesn't mean you should ape in without doing your own research. Prices are volatile, profit-taking is real, and absolutely none of this is financial advice.
