It’s giving main character energy: Air Supply is officially being immortalized on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. The iconic duo—English singer-songwriter Graham Russell and Australian vocalist Russell Hitchcock—are set to receive their star on Thursday, Oct. 8, at 11:30 a.m. PT. Real talk, this is long overdue for the guys who basically invented the soundtrack to every breakup anthem in existence.
The ceremony details
If you want to catch the vibes, the event is being streamed live exclusively at the official Walk of Fame website. The ceremony will be MC’d by iHeartMedia radio personality Lisa Foxx, with special guest speakers including the legendary producer David Foster and TV host Pat Sajak. The Hollywood Chamber of Commerce, which has been managing the landmark since 1960, said they are stoked to honor the pair for their "timeless musical legacy."
Why they’re legends
These two met way back in 1975 during rehearsals for Jesus Christ Superstar in Melbourne, and they’ve been killing it ever since. They absolutely ate in the early 80s with eight top 10 hits on the Billboard Hot 100, including the legendary "The One That You Love" and, of course, "All Out of Love." They even celebrated their 50th anniversary last year with a sold-out show at Carnegie Hall. If their discography doesn’t live rent-free in your heart, are you even living?
