Thomas Tuchel is keeping it real: he isn’t here to play games with club managers. As England gears up for a packed Nations League schedule, the manager shut down any talk of resting his stars or taking calls from Premier League coaches about managing players' minutes. He straight-up called the idea "madness."

Real talk, Tuchel wants consistency. While he admits rotating might be a necessity, he’s aiming to keep his core group together to build trust and momentum. "I would love not to rotate," Tuchel said. "The ideal scenario would be to go again and go again and go again."

The Declan Rice situation

One player who is definitely getting a breather is Declan Rice. Tuchel confirmed the Arsenal midfielder is sitting out this international window due to his heavy workload over the last few seasons and existing fitness concerns. Rice was spotted in the stands at Wembley as England dropped a wild 3-2 match to Spain this past Saturday.

Bellingham’s fire

All eyes are on Jude Bellingham after his high-key performance against Spain, where he created a game-high five chances and assisted Anthony Gordon’s equalizer. Despite his high-intensity, all-or-nothing style, Tuchel isn’t planning on curbing his energy. "That’s just his game," the manager said. He noted that Bellingham actually thrives when things get heated, like his clash with Real Madrid teammate Marc Cucurella, saying, "It’s better if he plays with a bit of rage."

The road ahead

England is heading to Prague to face Czechia on Tuesday, followed by a trip to Rijeka to play Croatia on Saturday, before returning to Wembley next Tuesday. After the loss to Spain—which Tuchel says came down to one small slip by Harry Kane—the squad is feeling the pressure, but Tuchel remains unbothered. "It’s nothing we can’t handle," he added.

Why it matters

Tuchel is setting a firm tone early in his tenure. By refusing to cater to club-level requests and pushing for a winning mentality despite the fatigue, he is signaling that the national team’s performance is the only priority, regardless of how much of a grind the schedule becomes.
