The drama is already heating up

If you thought the regular version of The Traitors was intense, wait until you see the celebrity edition. We aren’t just watching strangers try not to get murdered; we are watching established industry besties potentially ruin their reputations for a game.

Take the iconic duo Rob Beckett and Romesh Ranganathan. These two are basically attached at the hip, having co-hosted Rob & Romesh Vs. and appeared on Mock the Week together for a decade. Romesh even joked about sitting through a colonic with Rob, which is a level of friendship I personally don't think I'd ever reach. But despite the bromance, Romesh admitted he won’t be able to trust Rob in the castle. Real talk, the betrayal vibes are immaculate.

It’s giving… a massive web of connections

This cast is highkey interconnected. We’ve got:

  • The Comedy Clique: Joe Lycett, James Acaster, and Joanne McNally are all friends, and Joe even worked with Rob Beckett on Last One Laughing.
  • The Broadcaster Web: Amol Rajan (who was, tragically, the first to be murdered) had already interviewed half the cast, from Michael Sheen and Joe Lycett to Ross Kemp and James Blunt.
  • The GOT Connection: Bella Ramsey and Sebastian Croft go way back to Game of Thrones season six.
  • The Deep History: American model Jerry Hall and actor Richard E Grant have been neighbors for 30 years and are actual besties who just went on holiday to Africa together.

Why it matters

Having a massive friend group in the castle isn't necessarily a W. While knowing everyone might feel safe, it can also make you an easy target. Some stars, like Leigh-Anne Pinnock, think being an outsider is the play, as people don't know her personality well enough to judge her. Whether being a 'big dog' or a dark horse wins the game, we are here for the chaos. Catch the next episodes this Thursday and Friday on BBC One and iPlayer.
