The 2026 MTV Video Music Awards gave us plenty of drama, but one of the most wholesome moments came from Bebe Rexha. While chatting with E! News’ Keltie Knight on the red carpet, the “Meant to Be” singer dished on the time Taylor Swift reached out to support her after designers refused to dress her for the 2019 Grammys due to her body type.
Bebe shared that the connection meant everything, saying, “I couldn't find a dress, and she had reached out to me because we're the same age, and I thought that was really, really, really kind of her.” For Bebe, having someone at Taylor’s level go out of their way to make her feel like she belonged was a major flex. “Nobody really reached out—like some people did, but for her, at such a high level, to make me feel like I belong was really, really nice,” Bebe added.
She definitely wasn't lacking in the fashion department this time around, though—Bebe absolutely ate in a stunning all-black Dreaming Eli dress for this year’s festivities.
The Dolly Parton factor
Taylor isn’t the only legend Bebe holds in high regard. She also reflected on working with the icon herself, Dolly Parton, on their 2023 collab “Seasons.” Bebe couldn't stop gushing over the country star’s energy, noting, “She is the baddest b---h. Her corset was tighter than mine. Her heels were insane.” Even better? Dolly was actually as chill and kind as you’d hope, which, real talk, isn’t always the case when you meet your heroes.

It’s a reminder that even for massive stars, the industry can be lowkey toxic regarding body standards, but showing up for each other makes all the difference.
