Okay, real talk, Taylor Swift is literally serving us content.
Fresh off dropping the "Patient Zero" music video (which premiered at the VMAs, no biggie), the 36-year-old superstar is giving us the full BTS treatment. She took to her Instagram Stories on Saturday (Oct. 3) to share a link to the "Patient Zero (Expanded Video)" exclusively on Apple Music. This isn't just a quick clip; it's an eight-minute deep dive into her genius, showing her creative process, directing scenes, and sharing some seriously funny moments with co-stars Dakota Johnson and Colin Farrell.
"I've been wanting to make this video my entire life," Swift says in the clip, gushing about her love for "sleek" films with a "monochromatic" vibe. She describes the video as a mix of a ghost story, true crime, and plotlines you'd totally find on Dateline. #relatable?
The "Patient Zero" video, which Swift herself directed, stars Johnson as a woman whose health takes a nosedive while married to Farrell's character. Swift makes a cameo as the ghost of Farrell's ex-wife, spilling the tea about his shady past.
Dakota Johnson, who's clearly living her best life working with Swift, shared, "Sometimes when you work with your friends it can really go south... But she and I work really well together." The vibes are definitely immaculate between these two, as they even goof around practicing their underwater scene, rocking matching black swimsuits.
Swift also gave mad props to the video's cinematographer, Emmanuel “El Chivo” Lubezki, calling him "the f-king goat." Highkey, we love to see it.
Farrell, playing a character he describes as a successful, ambitious "narcissist" and "psychopath," was equally impressed by Swift's directorial skills. "The joy she has with her creative engine... the joy she has with it is really quite humbling, actually. It's very moving," he shared.
This "Expanded Video" comes as part of a bundle with the song and original music video. It's all tied to "Patient Zero" being one of four new tracks Swift dropped this week from her album "The Life of Showgirl: The Encore." The other new bops include "Cleveland!," "Pink Clouding," and "Babylon."
