The Era of Basic Chips is Over
Real talk: the holy trinity of ready salted, salt and vinegar, and cheese and onion is being pushed aside. We're living in a world of 'gourmet' crisps where everything from truffle to glazed meats is landing on the shelves. It’s giving… too much. We taste-tested 100 of the weirdest options out there to see what’s actually worth the bag space and what is straight-up cursed.
The 'Please Don't' List
Some of these flavors are a total L. If you see 'Grouse and whinberry' or anything promising prosecco-flavored chips, walk away. Those literally taste like flat bubbles, and let’s be honest, booze and snacks should probably stay in their own lanes.
Then there’s the 'Blue heat' Takis—I’m not joking, they smell like urinal cakes and leave your fingers looking like a smurf. Hard pass. Also, stay away from the 'Fried egg' flavor unless you want to trigger an instant food ick. It's highkey tragic.
Why it matters
We love a snack hack, but brands are out here acting like mad scientists with flavors that have no business being on a potato chip. Next time you’re browsing the aisle, stick to the classics unless you want to end up with a bag of 'stale ketchup' vibes. Save your money and your tastebuds, babes.
