The situation
Sean “Diddy” Combs is currently serving a 50-month sentence, but he had a major change of pace this weekend. According to reports, the 56-year-old was rushed out of the FCI Fort Dix federal lockup in New Jersey by ambulance on Saturday morning to treat a head injury.
He wasn’t out for long, though. He reportedly left the facility around 1 a.m. and was back inside before 7 a.m. that same morning. It’s still unclear exactly what caused the injury or which hospital he ended up at.
Recent drama behind bars
This hospital run comes right on the heels of a rough Friday for Combs. He was hit with sanctions for “disruptive conduct” inside the prison, which honestly feels like the plot thickens. Officials claimed he was caught with a contraband cell phone used to look at explicit content sent by an ex-girlfriend.
As a penalty, he lost 41 days of good conduct time, meaning his potential release date got pushed from January 2028 to March 2028. There were also reports that he was paying for “VIP” treatment inside, including massages, booze, and cleaning services for his shower and toilet.
Background on the case
To recap, Combs was convicted in July 2025 following a trial that went viral for all the wrong reasons. While he was acquitted of sex-trafficking and racketeering charges, he was found guilty of two counts of transportation to engage in prostitution. Testimony during the trial detailed graphic "freak off" parties, involving allegations of forced drug use and coerced encounters.
Why it matters
This incident highlights the intense spotlight that remains on Combs even while he's incarcerated, especially following allegations that he was receiving preferential treatment behind bars. The combination of his medical emergency and recent disciplinary issues keeps his case front and center in the public eye.
