The Week 2 Hangover
Real talk: Week 2 was a total L. We went from the high-energy shootouts of the season opener to a slog of low-scoring games and brutal injuries. Between the weather stalling the Vikings-Bears game and Jaxson Dart’s injury sidelining the Giants-Rams showdown, the vibes were off. My ATS record is currently 15-17, and I’m looking to bounce back with some major Ws this week.
The Texans are the Move
I’m not sweating the Houston Texans starting 0-2. Head coach DeMeco Ryans has hit an 0-2 start in three of his last four seasons, yet he still racks up double-digit wins. The Indianapolis Colts are dead last in total defense, passing defense, and scoring defense. They’ve allowed 500 yards in each of their first two games—a historical level of bad. Texans all day.
Bills vs. Chargers
Everyone is coming for Justin Herbert, but if you actually watch the film, he’s not the only problem. The Chargers' defense is straight-up failing, and their receivers are dropping balls left and right. The Bills had a long week to prepare and are playing at home in front of a massive crowd. I’m betting on a Buffalo blowout.
Lions on a Warpath
The Detroit Lions were embarrassed on national TV last Thursday, and Dan Campbell is definitely coming for revenge. Even with some defensive question marks, Jared Goff’s offense is electric. Jahmyr Gibbs is crushing it with 299 total yards, and they’re going to light up the Jets.
Broncos Upset Incoming
Hear me out: The Denver Broncos are my upset pick of the week. Bo Nix is a total menace against NFC teams, boasting a 9-0 record with 23 touchdowns and only two turnovers in his last nine games against them. With Puka Nacua’s status for the Rams looking shaky, Denver is set to run the show.
Why it matters
We’re three weeks in and the power dynamics are shifting fast. Whether it's coaching adjustments or injury-driven roster chaos, these matchups define who’s actually built for a playoff run and who’s falling off.
