The Week 3 Vibe Check
Real talk: Week 3 is already moving fast. The Atlanta Falcons just proved anything can happen, dropping 35 points on the Green Bay Packers at Lambeau Field with Michael Penix Jr. leading the way. The league is dealing with an injury crisis at QB and WR, but we have the receipts on who to watch this Sunday.
Big Games, Bigger Stakes
- Chargers vs. Bills: The Chargers are currently mid and frankly lost, starting 0-2 against teams that struggled last year. Justin Herbert is under pressure on 46% of plays, while Josh Allen is operating like a freight train on an MVP trajectory. Expect the Bills to run up the score.
- Lions vs. Jets: We’re turning our backs on the Jets for this one. Detroit is putting up 30+ points per game, and Jahmyr Gibbs is a different animal on the ground. Despite the Lions' shaky defense, their home-field energy (11-1 in their last 12 home games after a loss) makes them a lock.
- Chiefs vs. Dolphins: History is about to change. Since 1970, the Chiefs have never covered a road game as double-digit favorites (0-10-1 ATS). Patrick Mahomes is back in his bag after a massive 382-yard, 3-TD performance against the Colts. Expect him to pick apart a Miami secondary that struggled against the Niners.
- Seahawks vs. Commanders: With Sam Darnold returning from a glute injury, the Seahawks are looking dangerous. The Commanders are forced to start Marcus Mariota after Jayden Daniels suffered an elbow dislocation, and that’s a tough look against the league's top defense.
- Raiders vs. Saints: The Saints are looking like the main character of the NFC South. Tyler Shough is playing lights out, and the home-field buzz at the Caesars Superdome will be electric.
