Located at 9 Dundas Lane in Melbourne, this building isn't just a former biscuit factory—it’s been the heartbeat of the indie music scene for almost five decades.
Why this place is iconic
This spot has been the main character of the local industry since the group moved in back in 1980. We’re talking about the place where legends like Kylie Minogue, Jimmy Barnes, and Paul Kelly signed their deals. It’s also the home base for Frontier Touring, the massive promoter that’s brought icons like Taylor Swift, Madonna, and the Foo Fighters to town.
What’s next?
CEO Matt Gudinski, son of the late music entrepreneur Michael Gudinski, admitted it’s going to be a total mood-killer to pack up. "It’s hard to overstate what this place means to everyone at Mushroom," he shared.
But the crew is already leveling up; the company is moving to a fresh, massive warehouse space on Little Collins Street to house their entire operation. The Dundas Lane property itself is a pretty impressive 525 sqm corner block with a rooftop terrace that’s lowkey legendary. Marshall White and Stonebridge are handling the sale, so if you’ve got a massive budget, it’s officially up for grabs.
