The 2026 MTV Video Music Awards are finally here, and the vibes on the red carpet in Los Angeles are absolutely immaculate. With Snoop Dogg taking the stage as our host for the evening, the red carpet was essentially a runway for the music industry's main characters.
JoJo kicked things off with a massive W, showing up in a stunning, skin-baring black two-piece that featured a jewel-encrusted bikini top. Chanel West Coast also understood the assignment, serving major Shania Twain energy in a leopard print cowgirl hat paired with a flowing sheer skirt. Not to be outdone, Bob the Drag Queen and Monét X Change, both Traitors alums, came to slay in iconic denim and sheer looks.
Big performances and bigger honors
Beyond the fashion, the night is absolutely packed with talent. Madonna is officially back on the VMAs stage after 23 years, opening the show with a medley from her latest album Confessions II. She’s also leading the pack tonight with 11 nominations.
LISA from Blackpink is set to give us the TV debut of her track “SaWaDika,” and Best New Artist nominee Sienna Spiro is making her VMA performance debut tonight, joining a stacked list of nominees including Bella Kay, CORTIS, Magnus Ferrell, Malcolm Todd, Myles Smith, and Stella Lefty.
Also, can we talk about Taylor Swift? She’s making history tonight as the first-ever recipient of the Artist Director Honors. It’s giving icon status, specifically recognizing her groundbreaking work behind the camera in music videos.
