The awkward sip
If you were scrolling through your feed today, you definitely saw the clip. Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg sat down with Irish billionaire John Collison on the Cheeky Pint podcast, and the vibes were immediately off. While chatting about his new Muse AI app, Zuckerberg reached for a pint of Guinness—reportedly his first time ever trying the stuff—and the result was pure main character energy in the worst way possible.
His face during that first sip? Absolutely traumatized. He looked like he was fighting for his life, squirming in his seat and struggling to swallow. At one point, he tried to force a smile, but it looked so glitchy it was like he accidentally picked the wrong emotion from a dropdown menu. He eventually seemed to power down and reset his facial expressions.
The mystery of the half-pint
Despite looking like he wanted to exit the building, he kept at it—sort of. By the 1-hour-and-20-minute mark, the man had only managed to finish half his glass. The plot thickened when filming resumed after a break and he was faced with a brand-new, full pint. RIP to his taste buds.
Why it matters
Why put himself through it? Maybe it’s because he dropped €20m on a castle in Ireland last month and he’s trying to lean into the local aesthetic. Regardless, Guinness is doing just fine without his endorsement, moving 1.88 billion pints a year. Real talk: some things just aren't meant to be, and based on that reaction, stout definitely isn't Mark's drink of choice.
