The Hype vs. Reality

LG is practically the royalty of OLED, so when they dropped the $3,600 75-inch Micro RGB evo MRGB95B, the expectations were high. RGB LED tech is the new shiny thing on the block, promising insane brightness by using red, green, and blue LEDs as a backlight. Does it get bright? Yes, I measured a peak of 4,011 nits, which is a major W for sunny living rooms. But real talk: the performance just doesn't justify the price tag.

Why the Vibes are Off

Out of the box, the color accuracy is mid. Everything leans slightly blue, so your white clouds look like they're feeling a bit cold, and skin tones are just off. Then there's the 'blooming'—when you have bright highlights against a dark background (like subtitles in a movie), you get these distracting light halos that look honestly cheap.

Then there’s the screen coating. This thing is so glossy that it turns your living room into a funhouse mirror. If you have even one lamp on, you're going to see rainbows dancing across your movie. Plus, viewing angles are pretty trash—if you aren't sitting dead center, the colors start to look washed out. It’s giving… headache.

The Software Situation

It runs on LG’s webOS. It’s snappy enough, but compared to Google TV or Apple TV, the navigation is just not it. Also, considering recent security buzz around LG TVs and audio recording concerns, you might want to consider going the 'dumb TV' route and plugging in an external device like an Apple TV 4K anyway.

Why it matters

Honestly, the MRGB95B is a masterclass in why you should just stick with an OLED. For a few hundred bucks more, the LG G6 or Samsung S95H will give you way better contrast, perfect colors, and zero blooming. Unless you live in a lighthouse and need extreme brightness, this TV is essentially a very expensive ad for LG’s own superior OLED lineup. Save your cash.
