The Winners
Washington Commanders quarterback Jayden Daniels is officially HIM. Coming off a dislocated left elbow that benched him for two games, Daniels returned against the Giants and showed zero fear. He racked up 103 rushing yards on nine carries and two touchdowns, proving he’s a fantasy must-start. He finished 17-of-25 for 199 passing yards, and while he dealt with a banged-up receiving corps, his mobility makes him a high-floor play heading into Week 6 against San Francisco.
New York Jets running back Braelon Allen also ate this week. With Breece Hall out due to a quad injury, Allen stepped into the workhorse role against the Browns, logging 24 carries for 116 yards and a touchdown. He’s a lock for your No. 2 running back spot as long as Hall remains sidelined.
The Rough Patches
It’s giving major disappointment for Jaylen Waddle. Despite high hopes for the Broncos offense under play-caller Sean Payton, Waddle was limited to just two catches for 19 yards against the Chargers. It’s been a rough season, with three games under 6.4 PPR points. He’s officially moved down to a No. 3 receiver status heading into a brutal matchup with Seattle.
Meanwhile, Saints quarterback Tyler Shough had his worst outing of the season, throwing two picks and failing to find the end zone against a tough Vikings defense. But don't drop him yet—he’s set to face the Giants in Week 6, who have been generous to opposing QBs all year.
Why it matters
Fantasy football is all about momentum and knowing who to bench. With bye weeks approaching, identifying these rising stars like Daniels and Allen—and knowing when to move on from underperforming vets—is the difference between a W and an L.
