The crypto world is mourning a major loss. Hsin-Ju Chuang, the founder of Dystopia Labs and a respected executive who held senior roles at both Stellar and Solana, has passed away at age 37. Her death was confirmed by the San Bernardino County Sheriff-Coroner, which has officially ruled the cause as suicide.
According to the report, California Highway Patrol officers responded to an incident on Interstate 15 in Harvard, California, on August 24, where she was pronounced dead at the scene.
Chuang was a known name in the space, serving as a partner and head of platform at the venture firm Hack VC since 2025 after joining them as a venture partner in 2021.
Alexander Pack, co-founder and managing partner at Hack VC, issued a statement saying the firm was "shocked and saddened" by the news. He noted that the company had not been in direct contact with Chuang for over 10 months and was unaware of the circumstances of her passing. "We have no further information, and only wish to ask everyone to be respectful of those who are grieving," Pack said.
Before her passing, Chuang had publicly raised allegations regarding her treatment at Hack VC during a medical emergency and had indicated she planned to share evidence regarding those claims.
