Besties, the collab of our dreams just arrived. Irish post-punk legends Fontaines D.C. have officially blessed us with their first-ever outside collaboration, recruiting the absolute queen herself, Rosalía, for their new track "Where Is Gone?"
Released today (Oct. 12), the song is a total vibe and will be featured on the band’s upcoming fifth studio album, Dopamine Chamber, which drops this Friday (Oct. 16). The track features the iconic vocals of the Catalonian star blended with frontman Grian Chatten’s signature sound, and honestly, it’s a massive W for music lovers everywhere.
Why it works
Guitarist Carlos O’Connell, who has roots in both Spain and Ireland, shared on Triple J radio that the collab felt organic. He noted that Rosalía’s commitment to preserving Spanish tradition and flamenco felt "very akin to what we were doing" with their own Irish roots. He added that watching her open the doors for Spanish music felt similar to what his band has done for the Irish scene.
This is the third single we’ve heard from Dopamine Chamber, following the tracks "Marianne" and "Tongue." The band is also gearing up for a massive European arena tour starting October 21 in Lisbon, followed by huge stadium shows in the U.K. and Ireland next summer—including a spot at Slane Castle that makes them the first Irish band to headline there since U2.
Why it matters
This is a huge milestone for Fontaines D.C., marking the first time they’ve invited an outside artist into their studio process. It’s giving main character energy, and given how much buzz this is already generating, it’s safe to say Dopamine Chamber is going to be on repeat all weekend. Say less, we are ready.
