The vibes just got a major boost in Eugene. Oregon head coach Dan Lanning confirmed that quarterback Dante Moore was back at practice this past Monday, rocking his helmet and pads. It’s a huge W for the No. 13 Ducks as they prep for their high-stakes matchup against No. 21 UCLA this Saturday.
The Road to Recovery
Moore has been in concussion protocol since Week 4 after taking a brutal high hit from USC linebacker Desman Stephens II. That hit was so severe it led to Stephens II being suspended and Moore being carted off the field. Real talk, the team has been moving with "an abundance of caution" to make sure he’s 100% before throwing him back into the fire. Lanning made it clear they aren't rushing the process, stating, "we're gonna do what's best for Dante moving forward."
What’s Next?
While it’s great to see him back with the squad, his status for Saturday is still TBD. Keep an eye on the official Big Ten availability report dropping this Wednesday night for the real tea. If he can't go, backup Dylan Raiola is ready to step up. He lowkey ate in his relief appearance against USC, completing 76% of his passes for 289 yards and two touchdowns.
Why it matters
Getting Moore back in the rotation is a game-changer for Oregon's season momentum, especially with a top-25 matchup on the horizon. His return brings back the main character energy the offense needs to stay elite as they hunt for a conference win.
