The comeback king
Real talk: Case Keenum just gave us a major highlight-reel moment. In his first start in nearly three years, the 38-year-old backup QB absolutely ate, throwing for two touchdowns and rushing for another in the Chicago Bears’ 27-7 absolute dismantling of the Philadelphia Eagles on Monday night. It’s giving classic underdog energy, no cap.
Keenum stepped up after Caleb Williams was sidelined with a right hamstring injury. He went 24-for-34 for 247 yards, proving he’s still got the juice after 14 seasons in the league. "I really don’t have any words, there’s so much emotion," Keenum said post-game. He even had his kids in the stands, saying, "We kept it exciting for them."
Bears dominate, Eagles struggle
Chicago (2-1) brought the momentum from the jump, moving the ball with a 13-play, eight-minute drive that Keenum capped off with a one-yard rushing touchdown. Kalif Raymond was the main character in the receiving game, grabbing six catches for 90 yards and a score.
Meanwhile, the vibes were definitely off for Philadelphia (2-1). They turned the ball over three times and couldn't force a single takeaway all game. Jalen Hurts finished 16-for-25 for 153 yards with an interception, while Saquon Barkley rushed for 82 yards. Hurts even had a scare in the second quarter when he was pulled for a concussion check after a hit, though he did return to score a touchdown right before halftime.
Why it matters
This win is a major W for Chicago, helping them bounce back after a rough Week 2. For Keenum, it’s a career milestone—marking his first start since December 2023—and shows exactly why having a reliable veteran in the locker room is a total game-changer for the season.
