The market bounce
Real talk: the vibes were definitely off on Thursday, but crypto is looking a bit more chill today. Bitcoin is currently trading at $82,295, marking a 1.28% gain over the last 24 hours. This follows a pretty stressful slide that saw BTC dip below the $80,000 mark for the first time in over a month.
It’s not just BTC, either. The wider market is recovering, with Ethereum up 4.17% to $2,473.17, while Solana and XRP are also seeing green. The absolute main character energy right now belongs to Zcash, which jumped 10.29% to $1,222.02, effectively erasing the losses it took yesterday.
Why things got spicy
If you were wondering why the charts looked so red yesterday, it’s because the market got absolutely humbled. According to CoinGlass, Thursday’s dip triggered a whopping $948 million in liquidations. To break it down: 90.6% of those were 'longs'—people betting on the price going up. When the price hits a certain floor, those leveraged trades get forced closed, and that selling pressure just snowballs. It’s a classic degen nightmare, no cap.
What the charts say
Looking at the daily chart, Bitcoin is currently hugging a key resistance level of $81,603. Yesterday’s wick dipped down to $79,711, which also pushed it below the 50-day exponential moving average (EMA) of $80,407.
However, the 200-day EMA is sitting way down at $75,759. Because the 50-day is still above the 200-day, the long-term trend is still technically bullish. The Average Directional Index (ADX) is hovering at 25.5—basically on the line of confirming a trend—but right now, the bears (DI-) have a slight lead over the bulls (DI+). The Relative Strength Index (RSI) is sitting at 48.9, which is neutral but leans slightly toward sellers.
What’s next?
If you’re checking the odds on Myriad, sentiment has shifted. Traders now put the odds of Bitcoin hitting $87,500 this month at 31%, down from 45% on Tuesday. Conversely, there’s a 43% chance it drops to $77,500.
- The Bullish Path: Buyers need to hold that $81,603 support and close above $84,246 to push for the $87,423 highs.
- The Bearish Path: If we close below $81,603, look out for $78,003 or even that $75,759 zone where the 200-day EMA is hiding.

Why it matters
Crypto is volatile by design, and yesterday’s massive liquidation proves how quickly leverage can flip your portfolio upside down. Keeping an eye on these technical levels helps you stay informed rather than just reacting to the noise.
