The on-chain money flow is giving mixed signals this week. While spot Bitcoin ETFs are officially on a three-week heater, Ether ETFs have lowkey flipped to net outflows, marking a major pivot for institutional sentiment.

The BTC and ETH Breakdown

According to data from SoSoValue, spot Bitcoin ETFs scooped up $241.1 million in new inflows last week. That brings the cumulative net inflows for these funds to a massive $57.8 billion. While it’s definitely a W for BTC holders, remember that past performance isn't a guarantee of future gains—always manage your own bags.

On the other side of the trade, Ether ETFs are having a rougher go. After seeing a massive $690 million inflow the week prior, the funds recorded $138 million in net outflows last week. Despite the exodus, their year-to-date net inflows still sit at roughly $1.5 billion.

The Rest of the Market

It wasn't just the two market giants making moves. Zcash funds saw their first-ever weekly outflow, dumping around $94 million. Meanwhile, Solana and XRP ETFs stayed green, extending their inflow streaks with $2.4 million and $4.7 million respectively.

As for the charts, Bitcoin was trading at approximately $86,200 (up 3.7% over the last seven days), while Ether hovered around $2,727 (up 3%). The overall sentiment on Alternative.me’s Crypto Fear & Greed Index is sitting at 70, cooling off slightly from last week's 74, but still firmly in "Greed" territory.

Why it matters

Tracking ETF flows is one of the best ways to see what institutional players are doing behind the scenes. While Bitcoin remains the main character of this market cycle, the divergence in Ether flows reminds us that institutional demand can shift fast, and nothing in crypto is ever a straight line to the moon.
