The Rundown
If you have Amazon Basic Care extra-strength acetaminophen in your stash, you need to check the bottle immediately. The FDA just announced a voluntary recall for over 112,000 bottles of the pain reliever after customers reported that the tablets looked discolored.
Amazon is working with the manufacturer, Aurohealth, to pull the product from circulation. While the FDA notice is pretty vague regarding why the pills are changing color or what the specific health risks are, this is a major red flag—real talk, you don't want to mess with off-looking medication.
The Numbers
The recall covers three different bottle sizes distributed by Amazon.com Services LLC:
- 200-count bottles: Lot # ACD125040A (14,640 units)
- 500-count bottles: Lots ACD124036A, ACD124030A, ACD124042A, ACD124048B, and ACD125010A (90,456 units)
- 1,000-count bottles: Lot # ACD124048A (7,836 units)
Why it matters
When it comes to your health, the vibes have to be right. Even though there haven't been official injury reports yet, it's lowkey a major L to keep potentially compromised medicine in your rotation. If your lot number matches the ones above, stop using it immediately and look into a return or disposal. Stay safe and don't risk it for the sake of a few bucks—your health is the real main character here.
